A leading restaurant group in Whitby is seeking a Head Chef to oversee kitchen operations and create exceptional seasonal menus. Head Chef – busy restaurant – Whitby, North Yorkshire
As Head Chef you will manage the day-to-day operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen operations,ensuring that the food and service meets the brand standards. You will audit inventory levels to ensure product availability, ordering products as necessary and maintain precise and accurate control records for ordering, preparation and kitchen operations. As Head Chef you will create exceptional seasonal menus. You will lead the way to ensure all the food is prepared safely, adhere to the food and safety regulations/legislation and ensure Health & Safety compliance checks are completed and documented within a clean kitchen environment.
As head Chef you will liaise with Front of House staff to ensure an efficient food service delivery to the guests and all hotel clients. You will observe, monitor and reduce the energy and waste of the kitchen. You will build positive relationships with food and beverage suppliers ensuring the best prices are gained. You will ensure the team are thoroughly briefed as per daily kitchen and service briefings and that all front and back of house staff are knowledgeable aboutproducts, menus, beverages and equipment.
Your role as Head Chef includes being able to analyse and review monthly P&L to ascertain the profitability of the department and to operate within departmental budgets through effective cost controls and well managed schedules. You will work with the Hotel Manager, General Manager and finance team to maximise income at every opportunity. it will be your responsibility to monitor and manage control costs within the department and ensure minimal food is wasted, and wastage records are kept, includingbreakage records.
