Job description

Blue Arrow Derby is proud to be working in partnership with an excellent manufacturing & visitor attraction client within the Staffordshire area who are looking to recruit a Head Chef on a full time, permanent basis to join their team.

Hours: 39 hours per week (8-4:30) - including weekends on a rota basis

Salary: Up to £40,000 (depending on experience)

What will you be doing in the Head Chef role?
  1. General food preparation
  2. Working to existing menu and creating new menu development ideas
  3. Assisting the Head of Retail to form new ideas, events in line with the company brand
  4. Line management of kitchen team
  5. Training and supporting kitchen team
  6. Preparing rotas
  7. Supporting on company events
  8. Filling away deliveries
  9. Washing utensils and dishes
  10. Great communication and teamwork skills
  11. Cook all food to excellent quality
  12. Storing and sorting ingredients properly
  13. Passion for food
  14. Ability to work under pressure
  15. Ensuring food prep and kitchen areas are clean in line with health and safety and food hygiene procedures
What will you bring to the Head Chef role?
  1. Previous experience as a Head Chef or similar
  2. Previous experience working within a café/visitor attraction/restaurant environment is highly desirable
  3. Food hygiene level 2 (dated within the last three years)
  4. Ability to provide new menu development and ideas to the company in line with their vision
  5. Previous management experience of kitchen staff
  6. Happy to clean and be involved in supporting areas as needed
  7. Has excellent organisation and time-management skills
  8. Able to use their own initiative and work as part of a team
  9. Able to communicate/report any issues to the relevant people effectively
  10. Is hard-working and reliable
