Job description

Blue Arrow Derby is proud to be working in partnership with an excellent manufacturing & visitor attraction client within the Staffordshire area who are looking to recruit a Head Chef on a full-time, permanent basis to join their team.

Job Details
  • Hours: 39 hours per week (8:00 - 16:30), including weekends on a rota basis
  • Salary: Up to £30,000
Responsibilities
  • General food preparation
  • Working to existing menu and creating new menu development ideas
  • Assisting the Head of Retail to develop new ideas and events aligned with the company brand
  • Line management of the kitchen team
  • Training and supporting the kitchen team
  • Preparing rotas
  • Supporting company events
  • Handling deliveries
  • Washing utensils and dishes
  • Ensuring excellent communication and teamwork
  • Cooking all food to high standards
  • Properly storing and sorting ingredients
  • Maintaining cleanliness in line with health, safety, and food hygiene procedures
Qualifications and Skills
  • Previous experience as a Head Chef or similar role
  • Experience in a café, visitor attraction, or restaurant environment is highly desirable
  • Food hygiene Level 2 (valid within the last three years)
  • Ability to develop new menu ideas aligned with the company’s vision
  • Previous management experience of kitchen staff
  • Willingness to support in cleaning and other areas as needed
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills for reporting issues
  • Hard-working and reliable
