Aramark UK is currently recruiting a Head Chef to join our team in Topcliffe, Thirsk, YO7 3EY.

You will be responsible for kitchen operations, cost efficiency, and the production of innovative quality food/menus within budget to enhance sales.

To be eligible, you must have been a UK resident for the past 3 years, have the legal right to work in the UK, and be able to pass security vetting and DBS checks. Reliable transport is required due to the location and limited public transport options.

What we offer:
  • This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, 5/7 days, with shifts typically between 09:00 and 17:30, leaving evenings free.
  • Salary: £31,557.25 per annum.

A day in the life of a Head Chef:
  • Training and leading culinary staff in standard food production techniques, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Identifying training needs and conducting relevant training on procedures, equipment, and cleaning products.
  • Implementing new policies and maintaining staff records.
  • Being computer literate, multitasking, and simplifying team agendas.
  • Developing innovative, cost-effective solutions.
  • Building effective client and customer relationships, communicating regional culinary trends.
  • Empowering the team to deliver excellent customer service, investigating concerns, and taking corrective actions.
  • Ensuring compliance with operational standards, managing waste, menus, recipes, and ingredients, and understanding supply chain and procurement processes.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Levels 1 & 2 in culinary skills.
  • Clean Enhanced DBS.
  • Experience in a similar educational environment.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Residency in the UK for the past 3 years with legal right to work, able to pass security vetting and DBS checks.
