We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen of a bespoke hotel in Port Talbot.
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented chef who is confident running a busy kitchen and wants to make their mark in a well-regarded venue.

About the Role:
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including menu planning, stock control, food preparation, and leading a team of chefs. Youll be expected to deliver a diverse range of high-quality dishes, manage kitchen budgets, and uphold hygiene standards at all times. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives under pressure and enjoys creating memorable dining experiences.

About the Client:
Our client is a long-standing, boutique-style hotel that prides itself on its food, service, and atmosphere. They cater to a wide range of guests and events and are looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas and consistently deliver quality cuisine across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and private functions.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time, permanent
  • Split shifts: 10:00am3:00pm and 6:00pm9:00pm

Key Duties:

  • Lead and manage all kitchen operations
  • Create seasonal menus and daily specials
  • Ensure consistent quality across all meals
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
  • Order stock and manage inventory
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff
  • Work closely with management on service planning and budgeting

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Head Chef
  • Recognised culinary qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Experience working with a variety of food styles and cuisines
  • Must have a valid UK driving licence and own transport
  • Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
