Job description

Head Chef, Country Inn, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, up to £48k, live in accommodation available


This beautiful country inn surrounded by countryside offers freshly prepared food using quality seasonal ingredients, with menus changed seasonally. With charcoal grills and a wood-fired pizza oven, the emphasis is on Mediterranean-inspired food, including handmade authentic Italian pizzas.


As the Head Chef, you will be:

  1. Responsible for the overall running and management of the kitchen
  2. Leading and managing a team of 10
  3. Ensuring a high standard of food is produced and presented
  4. Create and execute a fresh food menu offer for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  5. Responsible for HACCP, H&S, Food Safety, allergens etc.
  6. Working to budget and GP

Working hours are 5/7, 45 hours per week.

You, as our ideal candidate, would be:

  1. A passionate and food-driven Head Chef with a stable work history (min 18 months in each place)
  2. Experienced within a high-quality fresh food kitchen (high street restaurant, hotel, or gastro pub)
  3. Able to cook freshly prepared food with an eye for detail and presentation
  4. A strong manager with the ability to lead, motivate and develop your team
  5. Financially aware and able to manage/work to budget
  6. Genuinely passionate about food and customer service
  7. Able to work well under pressure, remaining calm at all times
