Job summary

Greene King is hiring a Head Chef to lead a busy kitchen in one of our pubs. You’ll drive consistently excellent food and service by inspiring your team, planning daily operations and maintaining rigorous hygiene and safety standards.

You will coach and develop staff, ensuring high quality dishes while supporting the broader business goals and customer satisfaction. A passion for people development and working in a fast paced hospitality environment is essential.

As a Head Chef, you will…

• Plan, organise and manage the day‑to‑day operation of a busy kitchen, ensuring smooth service and high standards.
• Coach, develop and support your team, helping individuals reach their full potential.
• Maintain exceptional food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards at all times.
• Work closely with the management team to drive food quality, team engagement and commercial performance.

What you’ll bring to the kitchen

• Experience as a Kitchen Team Leader looking to step into your first Head Chef or Kitchen Manager role, or previous experience managing a busy kitchen.
• A passion for developing and leading high‑performing teams.
• The ability to stay calm under pressure and deliver consistently in a fast‑paced environment.
