Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong background in wedding and event catering with excellent leadership skills.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

AsHead Chef, you’ll play a pivotal role in launching and leading a vibrant, multi-outlet kitchen operation at one of the region’s most exciting new destinations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the culinary directionacross the farm’s food outlets, including the Farmshop, Café Restaurant, Barista Coffee Bar, Playbarn Café, Concessions, and Events & Hospitality spaces
  • Building and managing a skilled kitchen team, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene across all outlets
  • Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, stock control, supplier relationships, allergen management, and cost control
  • Collaborating with front-of-house and events teamsto deliver seamless service for school visits, seasonal events, weddings, and private functions
  • Maintaining consistency and excellenceacross a logistically varied site, ensuring smooth kitchen operations and timely service
  • Implementing and upholding food safety and quality standards, including full compliance with HACCP procedures
  • Delivering exceptional hospitality experiencesthrough creative, seasonal, and locally inspired menus
  • Driving innovation and continuous improvement, adapting menus and operations based on feedback, trends, and evolving visitor needs

  • A strong background inwedding and event catering—you know how to deliver under pressure and exceed expectations
  • A track record ofleading, training, and motivating kitchen teamsto deliver consistently high standards
  • Financially astute, with experience in managing food costs, GP, stock control, and supplier relationships
  • Excellentcoaching, delegation, and leadership skills—you lead by example and bring out the best in others
  • Highlyorganised, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure, even during peak service
  • Anempathetic and effective communicatorwith a collaborative, solution-focused mindset
  • Strongmenu development, planning, and critical reasoningskills
  • Able towork 5 out of 7 days, including weekends and evenings as required by the operation
