The Catherine Wheel, a 17th-century country pub nestled in the picturesque village of Marshfield, is seeking an experienced and passionate individual to lead our culinary team. With commitment to wholesome, freshly prepared dishes using local produce, we aim to provide a delightful pub food experience. Our menu offers traditional pub food alongside chef specials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Menu Development: Craft and regularly update seasonal menus that reflect our drive for quality and local sourcing.
• Kitchen Leadership: Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
• Team Management: We have a number of cooks and staff that can help run the kitchen. We’d like to train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Cost Control: Manage budgets, monitor stock levels, and control food costs to achieve financial targets.

Requirements:

• Experience: Having worked in a similar establishment, a proven track record as a Head Chef or skilled Sous Chef looking to take the next career step.
• Culinary Skills: Strong passion for cooking with an emphasis on British cuisine.
• Leadership: Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a diverse team.
• Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure and adapt to the dynamic needs of a busy pub environment.
