Are you an experienced Chef looking for more sociable hours?

We are seeking a passionate Head Chef for a permanent or temporary-to-permanent position at a Refugee Centre in the Braintree area. The role offers 40 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7, with some weekends off.

The site requires an experienced Chef with high-volume cooking experience, catering for up to 700 people, with potential for expansion.

The role includes overseeing breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.

Enjoy a great work-life balance with every other weekend off on a rolling rota.

Requirements:

  • Previous catering experience as a Lead Chef or Head Chef, preferably in high-volume restaurants or contract catering environments.
  • Confident in working in a busy kitchen and supervising staff.
  • A high level of professionalism, respect for others, and a positive attitude toward daily workload.
  • Experience in producing high-quality food.
  • Current Level 2 Food Hygiene and Allergen certificates.
  • Valid right to work in the UK.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, well-organized, and able to implement improvements effectively.
  • Access to own transport.

Essential Attainments:

  • Good secondary education
  • NVQ qualification or equivalent
