Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible and accountable for all aspects of successfully running the restaurant kitchen
- Organising and overseeing all kitchen staff, delegating and sharing tasks
- Responsible and accountable for the restaurant food hygiene rating (EHO inspection)
- Ensure all food is prepared in line with San Carlo's food specifications
- Adhere to all allergen policies at all times, ensuring your team is trained accordingly
- Undertake responsibilities of any role within the kitchen when needed
- Deliver KPIs to company targets
- Recruitment of kitchen team, maintaining a reasonable staff level to operate effectively
- Train and develop the kitchen team, encouraging succession planning
- Encourage team development, driven by Sous Chefs
- Lead talent planning across the kitchen team
- Responsible for Health and Safety, following all company policies and regulations
- Maintain good working relationships with front of house and back of house teams
- Manage staff and corrective actions with support from HR
- Manage staff rotas, holidays, and absences
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to innovate and improve
- Represent the company at industry events and engage with stakeholders
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef in a similar-sized restaurant
- High attention to detail
- Excellent leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in inventory, supply chain management, and scheduling
- Knowledge of industry regulations and guidelines
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
