Head Caretaker

As a Head Caretaker at Bellrock, your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and secure school environment, including buildings and grounds
• Carrying out cleaning, minor repairs, routine maintenance, refurbishment, porterage, and handyperson activities
• Promoting health and safety around the school
• Overseeing site management tasks such as supervising external contractors and planning site use and development

What does it take?

If you're ready to energize our business, share our success, and take ownership as a Head Caretaker, you'll need:

• To ensure a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for all users of the school facilities
• Responsibility for opening and closing the school premises
• Support building projects within agreed parameters, including obtaining quotations, scheduling, and managing costs
• Liaise with building users to facilitate additional or non-standard usage outside regular hours
• Lock and unlock premises as needed, including out-of-hours
• Perform regular checks of security systems and ensure necessary repairs are completed
• Advise on security and safety matters to the relevant managers
• Manage contractors for statutory testing and repairs
• Maintain the estate fabric and equipment, ensuring safety and functionality
• Ensure availability and proper maintenance of materials and equipment
• Carry out minor repairs within your capability, excluding major building works
• Observe health and safety requirements in all tasks and maintain safety logs

Working arrangements

We embrace flexible working practices, allowing for remote work where roles and business needs permit. The role requires working Monday to Friday, with shifts from 7:30 am to 11:00 am and 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
