Job summary

The Royal Automobile Club is seeking a Head Bartender to lead the bar’s day‑to‑day operations at our London and Epsom venues. You will deliver exceptional service to members and guests, craft a wide range of drinks, and drive team performance and standards.

You will combine hands‑on bartending with leadership, training, and stock control, ensuring a premium atmosphere. Prior senior bartender experience and strong knowledge of spirits and cocktails are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have strong leadership and people management abilities.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.
• Proven experience as a senior bartender with knowledge of cocktails, wines, and bar techniques.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, attentive, and personalised service.
• Prepare and serve a full range of cocktails, wines, spirits, beers, and non-alcoholic drinks to a high standard.
• Manage stock levels, place orders, and monitor deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory and supplier communication.
• Contribute to cocktail menu creation and seasonal specials.
• Supervise, motivate, and support bartenders and barbacks during service.
• Train new staff on service standards, cocktail recipes, and responsible alcohol service

Purpose of the role:

The Head Bartender leads the bar’s day‑to‑day operations, ensuring exceptional members and their guests service, high‑quality drinks, and smooth team performance. This role combines hands‑on bartending with leadership, training, stock control, and maintaining the overall atmosphere and standards of the bar.
