About The Role

The role of HE Lecturer - Law at University Centre (UC) Leeds involves planning, delivering, and assessing the curriculum for students enrolled in Access to HE Law and our LLB (Hons) Degree programs.

The curriculum at UC Leeds is vocational, diverse, and designed to prepare students for careers in legal and criminal justice fields. The institution holds Degree Awarding Powers and currently educates over 1300 students across various courses.

We offer a comprehensive LLB (Hons) Law degree, validated by The Open University, aimed at preparing students for various legal careers.

Law professionals with relevant degrees are encouraged to apply, even if they lack a teaching qualification. Funding opportunities may be available to support qualification acquisition. What You Will Do

  1. Plan, prepare, and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, and assessment plans.
  2. Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
  3. Maintain and update knowledge of the subject and vocational area.
  4. Adapt curriculum delivery methods to maximize effectiveness, including the use of technology.
  5. Apply theoretical understanding of effective teaching, learning, and assessment practices, drawing on research and evidence.

About You

  1. Hold a Level 5 Teaching Qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, PGCE) or be willing to undertake and complete this within 2 years.
  2. Possess a relevant highest-level vocational qualification or degree in the teaching subject.
  3. Have recent teaching experience in relevant subject areas, demonstrating active learning and differentiated teaching styles (PGCE placements/experience qualify).
  4. Possess knowledge of current teaching practices and experience utilizing diverse teaching methods to enhance learner progression.
