Job summary

Warwickshire College Group in Royal Leamington Spa is seeking an Instructor Technician for HE Creative. This part‑time role (13 hours per week) offers a pro rata salary between £8,747.59 and £9,163.59 per annum and is permanen t.

The successful candidate will support practical teaching, maintain workshop resources and ensure Health & Safety standards. DBS checks are required and eligibility to work in the UK is essential.

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics, or Level 2 equivalent qualification.
• Relevant Level 3 subject qualification and practical experience.
• Evidence of formal structured training in a relevant vocation.
• Be flexible with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
• Previous experience of delivering classes would be an advantage.
• Working knowledge of information technology such as e-mail, the internet and other software applications.
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Responsibilities

• Develop the skills of students within the subject area and provide a high standard of technical support.
• Assess student competence of the practical skill(s) and provide feedback.
• Ensure students demonstrate skills and behaviours required for successful completion of the qualification or course and provide the underpinning knowledge.
• Support training in demonstration or explanation of skills or behaviours required.
• Utilise prepared Scheme of Work to instruct / prepare sessions.
• Complete relevant assessment paperwork and check understanding of tasks.
• Maintain resources and prepare equipment for horticultural related activities.
• Carry out maintenance on tools and workshop equipment.
• Order workshop equipment and materials with the team.
• Maintain the unit and equipment to Health & Safety standards.
• Attend meetings and events as required.
• Ensure all students are aware of Health & Safety guidelines in the unit.
• Attend TeachingEssentials training.
