Job Summary
Participate in the efficient running of Outpatient Clinics, Surgical Day Care Unit & Theatre & Phlebotomy. Contribute to the delivery of care and assist in planning patient treatments. Assess safety and risk to both patients and self and implement a safe working environment. Support with carrying out patient's treatments & diagnostics tests. Contribute to delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Maintain laboratory standards.
Main duties of the job
  • Support/Chaperone patients within an OPD clinic setting
  • Undertake Venepuncture in busy Phlebotomy clinics
  • Contribute to care delivery and undertake diagnostic tests
  • Record baseline observations and document findings in patient records
  • Contribute to care in Theatres under supervision

Job Description
Responsibilities

Participate in outpatient and surgical clinics, assist in patient care planning, assess safety, support treatments and diagnostics, and maintain standards. Ensure a safe environment, record clinical data, and undertake investigations such as ECGs, bladder scans, and ophthalmic tests. Follow safeguarding policies and adhere to organizational guidelines.

Person Specification

Qualifications (Essential): Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent, experience in care, phlebotomy skills or willingness to train, recent professional development.

Skills (Essential): Basic computer skills, excellent communication, good hand-eye coordination.

Knowledge (Essential): Patient-centered care understanding. Desirable: BLS, safeguarding knowledge.

Experience (Essential): Caring role experience. Desirable: Outpatient or surgical setting experience.
