Job description

Opportunity to join a small, loyal team working across two GP sites in the lovely towns of South Shields & Jarrow.

This role combines clinical skills with administrative duties and requires a person with existing HCSW/HCA experience and certification. Please see the attached job spec. Note that it is NOT a care/carer role, and prior applicants need not re-apply. Thank you.

Main duties of the job

Providing a supportive role with patient reviews and signposting to Practice Nurses for further interaction, where necessary, while also working independently on a range of reviews suitable for a trained and skilled HCSW/HCA. Responsibilities include phlebotomy on site and possibly ECG testing, with results interpreted by a trained clinician. The role will be busy and engaging, supported by the existing HCA at the surgery.

We are a practice with 3 Partners, 2 long-term locum GPs, a Practice Manager, Assistant PM, ACP, NP, PN, HCA, GPA, Administrator, and 6 non-clinical care navigators, with 2 more soon joining us. We are a training practice, currently supporting an ST1, and involved with student placements in medicine and pharmaceuticals.

Job responsibilities

This is a new role with a mixed skill set, including the opportunity to gain an educational certificate in GPA work. Please see the attached job spec. Interviews will be conducted in person by 2 partners, a salaried GP, and the Practice Manager at Ravensworth Surgery, including scenario-based questions.
