NHS National Services Scotland invites applications from HCPC registered Clinical Scientists with a strong background in molecular pathology and cancer genomics. The post involves high responsibility in specialist molecular testing, including analysis, interpretation and reporting, and development of targeted gene panels using next generation sequencing.
Based in Edinburgh, currently at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh & Western General Hospital with planned move to Lauriston in 2028.
Qualifications
- HCPC registered Clinical Scientist with strong molecular pathology background.
- Experience in cancer genomics and NGS diagnostic development.
- Ability to develop and implement targeted gene panels and diagnostic services.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
Responsabilités
- Provide specialist molecular testing including analysis, interpretation and reporting.
- Contribute to development of targeted gene panel approaches using next generation sequencing.
- Maintain quality standards required by the service and ISO accreditation.
- Support training and service development; flexible/hom e-working options may be available.
