Job description


This will be a dual role, the post holder will coordinate the data for Homerton University Hospital’s HCC Surveillance call/recall system setup project and ensure the accurate and complete capture of detailed data from the pilot project.

This role demands experience in managing and manipulating data within various formats such as databases and utilising the Somerset Remote Monitoring System to track patients. Working independently is essential, including taking the initiative and effectively organising and prioritising the workload to meet changing and often tight deadlines.

The candidate must also demonstrate strong customer service skills, excellent attention to detail, and the capability to manage their workload efficiently, particularly under deadline pressure.The second part of the role is Fibroscan Technician. Fibroscans (transient elastography) are a non-invasive investigation which measure liver fibrosis and have increasing utility across viral hepatitis and hepatology services.

This role will be central to the provision of a fibroscan service for patients with liver disease. The post holder will participate as a valued member of the liver service team, assisting with specific duties and taking responsibility for managing a delegated workload within the service under nursing supervision. The post holder will work closely with both the Outpatient and Inpatient team in the delivery of the Fibroscan service at Homerton University Hospital.
• Support adoption and maintain a call/recall database to ensure a robust system for tracking patients and increasing the number of patients identified and offered liver surveillance as well as the uptake
• Manage the liver surveillance pathway for patients identified who are at risk of developing Hepatocellular Cancer (HCC)
• Manage the key performance targets in the department and demonstrate continuous improvement in patient experience.
• Support the Division’s implementation of service improvement as appropriate and general development of services. This post will play a key part in supporting change in supporting clinical teams plan and reviewing care pathways.
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining robust systems to cascade information, receive feedback and take appropriate action where necessary.
• Managing the HCC database and day to day data management duties with the support of the Lead Liver CNS.
• Inputting HCC information into the IT system for reporting.
• Assisting Lead Liver CNS with all operational issue
