Job description

This post is advertised for the new Acute Respiratory Unit in the new build of the Royal Liverpool Hospital. This is a 10 bedded Respiratory Unit, with 6 level 2 NIV beds.

As Band 3 Health Care assistant duties will include supporting the registered nursing teams in providing patient care, clinical duties such as assisting patients with extended personal hygiene needs, meeting patients nutritional needs, including completing risk assessments and implementing plans of care.

Pressure area care delivery and wound assessment and wound dressings. Undertaking observations, supporting new and junior members of staff, as well as venepuncture, cannulation and catheterization. Also supporting patient receiving High Flow oxygen therapy and Non Invasive Ventilation.

The successful candidate needs to be driven and motivated to fit into the team and to provide the highest standards of care for our complex respiratory patients.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic health care assistant who can demonstrate the trust values to join our team. Previous experience working within a health care environment is essential with respiratory experience desirable.

Requirements include a Band 3 nurse with level 3 Care certificate or NVQ level 3 certification. Excellent communication skills and IT skills required and the successful candidate should demonstrate a commitment to delivering excellent patient care.
