Job description

Working under the direction of the GP partners and to work as part of a multidisiplianry team, the post-holder will be responsible for performing venepuncture, ECGs and simple injections under PSDs. In addition to this, administrative tasks such as stock re-ordering and audits maybe required.

Main duties of the job
  • Obtaining Patient consent for the collection of bloods samples.
  • Performing venepuncture in accordance with practice protocols.
  • Maintain accurate patient records on the clinical system.
  • The correct labelling, packing and storing of samples.
  • Ensuring samples are sent to the laboratory in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining an effective liaison with the laboratory staff.
  • Working collaboratively with the clinical team and seeking guidance when necessary for patient related matters.
  • Perform ECGs
  • Carry out simple injections under PSDs

At Springfenisco Healthlink we have a branch surgery and sister practice in Blackburn. We work collaboratively to deliver high quality patient centred care. Our team has 3 GP partners, who are supported by our Practice Nurse, Clinical Pharmacist, Mental Health Practitioners and a strong admin team, we are also a training practice.

We work together as a team to ensure that we have a friendly and healthy working environment.

Qualifications
  • Must have previous phlebotomy experience
