  • Undertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required.
  • Support the practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics.
  • Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate.

An opportunity has arisen for you to join our friendly practice team at Mickleover Surgery. We are looking for a Health Care Assistant, experienced in General Practice to work 16 hours per week. The starting salary will be from £12.25 per hour depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role are to support the practice nurses in the delivery ofnursing services, working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team,delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patientpopulation. The healthcare assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff inthe provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patienteducation.

We are a small GP practice in Mickleover looking to recruit a HCA to join our clinical team of 3 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 2 Practice Nurses and 1 Pharmacist. We strive to provide our patients with excellent medical care delivered efficiently and effectively in an environment that is patient centred, welcoming, caring, safe and accessible.

Job responsibilities

The main duties of the role will include the following

Supportthe practice nurses with health promotion programmes

Carryout baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature,pulse rate, recording findings accurately

Facilitateroutine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly

Undertakewound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required

Supportthe practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics

Carryout BMI checks as directed

Ensurespecimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation

Ensureall clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session

ECGs

Ensureclinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced inaccordance with the practice Infection Prevention Control policy

Deliveropportunistic health promotion where appropriate
