Job summary

Amersham Health Centre is seeking a part-time Health Care Assistant to join the nursing team. The role focuses on phlebotomy, observations, ECGs, NHS Health Checks and simple wound care under nursing supervision.

The position spans around 21 hours across Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, with preference for candidates experienced in primary or community care. A Care Certificate and phlebotomy skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy.
• Record blood pressure, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Undertake ECGs.
• Measure height, weight, BMI and waist circumference.
• Carry out NHS Health Checks.
• Perform urinalysis.
• Assist with chronic disease monitoring, such as foot checks.
• Provide basic dressings and wound care using aseptic technique.
• Carry out suture clip and removal.
• Perform spirometry.
• Act as chaperone.
• Process laboratory samples requested by doctors and nurses.
