We are currently looking for Healthcare Assistants to join our Discharge Lounge teams at both The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.
The Discharge Lounge is a fast paced environment where patients wait for their discharge letters, medication and transport before leaving the hospital. The HCA role is heavily involved in the timely transferring of patients from the wards to the Discharge Lounge in order to create capacity and flow for our Emergency Departments.
As a Healthcare Assistant in the Discharge Lounge, you play a role in supporting patients who are medically fit and waiting to be discharged from hospital. The role focuses on ensuring patient comfort, safety, and dignity during the discharge process, while working closely with the nursing team, porters, pharmacy, and transport services.
