Overview

Working under the direct supervision of the senior practice nurse and GP Partners strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

Main duties of the job: duties and responsibilities this is not a full list and the role may vary according to the applicants abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Phlebotomy
  • 24 hour blood pressure monitoring as per protocol
  • ECGs
  • Annual Reviews Chronic Disease
  • Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual such as simple wound dressings, optional training for compression dressings, optional training for spirometry, B12 IM injection administration, urine analysis and INR monitoring
  • Annual flu vaccines
  • Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being such as height, weight, BP
  • Keep clear and accurate records utilising templates provided in Systm1 to ensure relevant read codes, clinical information are correct
  • Equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
