Job summary

Apex Recruit Ltd is seeking a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to provide safe, compassionate, patient-centred care and to support nurses and doctors with routine clinical and non-clinical duties within defined competencies.

You will assist patients with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, support clinical procedures, and ensure accurate records while maintaining confidentiality and patient dignity.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, nutrition, mobility and activities of daily living.
• Measure and record vital signs such as BP, pulse, temperature.
• Support clinical procedures such as ECGs, blood collection, urine testing, dressings and injections where trained and authorised.
• Observe patients and promptly report changes in condition to the nurse/clinician.
• Maintain accurate patient records and confidentiality.
• Collect, label and handle clinical/laboratory samples appropriately.
• Assist with infection prevention, cleaning and equipment safety checks.
• Restock clinical supplies and maintain treatment areas.
• Provide emotional support while maintaining patient dignity, privacy and respect.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors and the wider healthcare team.
