Day Group is seeking a Haulage Capacity Manager to ensure we have sufficient transport capacity to support customers and growth. The role involves managing relationships with external haulage providers, sourcing additional capacity, and negotiating rates to optimise transport movements across the UK.

Working closely with Logistics, Transport and Sales, you will maximise service levels, ensure compliance, and contribute to Day Group’s ongoing expansion of transport and logistics operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in haulage, logistics or related sector.
• Strong geographical knowledge and route-planning awareness.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and work independently.
• Highly organised with good time management.

Responsabilités

• Source and develop relationships with new haulage providers to support operational requirements.
• Maintain and nurture relationships with existing haulier partners.
• Allocate work to external hauliers and coordinate deliveries.
• Provide haulage rate quotations to the Sales Team.
• Review and update haulage rate structures with internal stakeholders.
• Negotiate job-specific transport rates with providers.
• Coordinate with Day Group depots and logistics teams to source capacity.
• Monitor haulier compliance including insurance and licensing requirements.
• Attend industry events to expand market knowledge and supplier networks.
• Uphold Day Group values with high standards of safety and professionalism.
