Job summary

Thales is recruiting for a 2027 Hardware Engineering Apprentice in Crawley. The role combines hands-on engineering with a Level 6 Electro-Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Nottingham.

Start date is 6 September 2027, with a 37-hour week and a salary of £24,000 per year. You’ll work on requirements management, design and validation of complex products, while benefiting from a fully funded degree, a permanent position from the start, and strong training and

Qualifications

• 3 A Levels (BBB) including Mathematics (Citizenship Skills, General Studies and Critical Thinking are not accepted) or equivalent qualifications.
• 5 GCSEs grade 9-4 (A-C) including English and Maths.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and test engineering solutions per Thales procedures.
• Attend project reviews and contribute to technical discussions.
• Create functional and physical system architectures.
• Prepare engineering specifications, interface control documents & test documentation.
• Deliver tasks on time and to the required quality.
• Work as a team-player, seeking guidance when needed.
• Develop knowledge and skills within the engineering discipline.
• Communicate engineering issues related to own tasks clearly.
