Job Description: Hardware Engineer

Location: Derby, Raynesway

Work Schedule: 5 days in the office

Join Rolls-Royce's submarines business, responsible for designing, manufacturing, and supporting nuclear propulsion systems for the Royal Navy. This role offers the opportunity to work across all phases of the product lifecycle, tackling technical challenges in digital, software, programmable hardware, and electronics technologies.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop hardware requirements and architectures using DOORS
  • Design circuits, select components, and create schematics
  • Integrate software and programmable hardware onto platforms
  • Conduct detailed integration testing and develop automated procedures
  • Manage change control, configuration, and participate in audits and reviews
  • Liaise with software, systems, and safety teams and manage suppliers
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or related field
  • Experience in digital electronics, programmable logic devices, and real-time systems
  • Understanding of safety-critical development standards (e.g., IEC62566)
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and collaborative
