Job summary

Spherea Test & Services Ltd in Bournemouth, UK is seeking a Hardware Engineer to design electrical and electronic hardware for bespoke test systems across the full lifecycle.

You will collaborate with systems, software, mechanical, production and project engineering teams and travel occasionally within the UK and overseas. A degree or HNC/HND in electronics or related field is required, with hands-on hardware design experience in regulated industries preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical or electronic hardware design across lifecycle stages.
• Ability to interpret requirements and translate into hardware solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Analyse customer and system requirements and develop hardware solutions.
• Design hardware for automated and manual test systems.
• Define interfaces between test system and equipment.
• Produce schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs and documentation.
• Prepare costings and participate in design reviews.
• Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, and cost targets.
• Support procurement, manufacturing, integration and testing.
• Assist with qualification, acceptance testing and CE/UKCA activities.
