Job description

Job Title: Hardware Engineer

Location: Rochester, Kent

Salary: £40,000 depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Working in a team environment with the development of Test Equipment solutions that support the complex and demanding requirements of the diverse variety of products developed at the Rochester site
  • Supporting Hardware Design
  • Supporting Hardware Integration
  • Supporting Hardware Obsolescence
  • Supporting System Safety
  • Design Documentation

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Technical Hardware engineering and development skills with some understanding of electronic systems and software
  • Experience of the hardware engineering lifecycle, from requirements analysis, design methods/activities, verification, through to formal release and configuration
  • Good communication skills, both written & verbal

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in an engineering environment
  • Some experience of Test Equipment design
  • Educated to minimum of HNC level or equivalent

The Test Systems team:

As part of the Test Systems team at BAE Systems Rochester, you will be working on active projects developing hardware used to test and simulate various avionic systems, such as Head-Up Displays, Helmet Displays, Mission and Flight Control Computers and Flight Controls.
