Hardstand Operator - Marlborough Sounds Marinas
Marlborough Sounds Marinas, the marinas business unit of Port Marlborough, manages three substantial marina facilities at Havelock, Waikawa, and Picton. These marinas provide over 1,000 wet berths, with an additional 250 berths coming this summer. The operation includes 260 boatsheds, significant storage, and active trailer boat launching facilities, serving as a central hub for recreational boating, community access, and commerce within the Marlborough Sounds.
Based at Waikawa Marina and working closely with the wider team, this role involves organizing and executing hardstand and haulout operations, providing excellent customer service to boat owners and marine service providers.
This is a hands-on, physical role responsible for the safe operation of mechanical lift equipment (including a 35-tonne Travelift and forklift) for vessel haulout and re-launch, moving vessels and equipment to maintenance yards, water-blasting vessels, preparing cradles, maintaining the hardstand, and managing waste systems to ensure environmental standards.
The successful candidate will be a team player committed to health and safety, practical, a problem-solver, and capable of maintaining equipment and facilities. They will be friendly, professional, prompt with customers, and aware of environmental and biosecurity responsibilities within the marina environment.
If you're seeking a hands-on opportunity within a great team, we would love to hear from you.
