Location: Newcastle

Contract: Full time, permanent

Hours: 38.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Your new role

What you’ll do:

As Hard Services Manager, you will oversee and manage the maintenance, repair, small works, and compliance functions for our public sector client. The Hard FM service includes delivery of planned and reactive maintenance in accordance with KPIs and quality standards.

The Hard Services Manager will have line management responsibility for a multi-disciplined direct delivery team and will manage delivery through specialist subcontractors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing maintenance activities, including reactive, planned, and small works across multiple sites, ensuring safe, customer-focused, cost-effective, and compliant service delivery.
  • Carrying out asset verification across the estate.
  • Planning PPM work for the maintenance team and subcontractors using the FM CAFM system, and updating the system accordingly.
  • Liaising with the client to ensure work standards, minimal disruptions, and appropriate remedial works.
  • Ensuring timely and efficient responsive and cyclical maintenance.
  • Working hands-on with the maintenance team to review plant faults and implement resolutions.
  • Acting as the Authorised Person Low Voltage, issuing permits for complex systems.
  • Leading on engineering aspects, maintaining compliance for Gas Safe, Biomass, etc., and ensuring paperwork is in order.
  • Liaising with subcontractors to ensure quality and timely service delivery, and rectifying defects satisfactorily.

About you

You should have experience leading a multi-disciplinary maintenance team in Facilities Management, with knowledge of statutory compliance, and experience with CAFM and BMS systems. A valid UK driving license is required due to the multi-site nature of the role.
