Overview

Bombardier’s Business Aircraft London Service Centre in Biggin Hill is part of an award-winning network and is the flagship of Bombardier’s European operation. This Base and Line Maintenance Centre is the fastest-growing Service Centre in Europe and the largest Business Aircraft OEM in the UK. The facility has the capabilities to perform an array of maintenance checks, modifications and upgrades all from this site. Only 14 miles from London, Bombardier’s Biggin Hill Service Centre is ideally located to support operators in the UK region and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to the company handbook, Bombardier Work Requirements and local Working Time Regulations.
  • Coordinate all shopfloor requirements based on shop floor requirement including winning conditions.
  • Manage shop floor HSE requirements liaising with HSE Manager. Promote, and ensure adherence to, Bombardier’s health and safety requirements/policies. PPE adherence on the shop floor.
  • Responsible for any raised QIR/IOR within area of responsibility.
  • Ensure GSE are available for maintenance at all times and forward requests through buyers for missing GSE and tooling (e.g., scaffolding, tool loans). Liaise with the GSE for booking and availability of tooling for aircraft maintenance.
  • Chase up of spares for AOG ensuring delivery on time. Coordinate return to store spare. Liaise with stores and runners for delivery and pick up of spares.
  • Manage resource allocations requirement by reporting any requirement for resource on relevant project within their Area of Responsibilities (AOR). Identify work force capability daily to support current operation needs.
  • Responsible for all engineers within their AOR to ensure they have completed all mandatory training and uphold the correct competency for tasks. Request training as required to enable maintenance support.
  • Responsible for ensuring engineers are booked on tasks and managing DOI within own AOR.
  • Determine any aircraft movement requirement on a day-to-day basis and liaise with the ramp team.
  • Responsible for ensuring the bays are kept to a high standard throughout any aircraft projects. Daily LSW/walkaround to ensure effectiveness.
  • Ensure all spares and customer products are protected during the project liaising with the team lead where required.
  • Support the Operations Manager and Team Leads at the GEMBA, updating the boards and completing actions.
  • Champion hangar 5S, housekeeping and general husbandry through delivering daily GEMBA escalating issues.
  • Champion relevant BOE (Bombardier Operational Excellence) initiatives to improve shop floor efficiency, which includes but is not limited to leading the daily side Compliance/Team Meeting, and managing the board and actions.
  • Take on the occasional Network or Site-specific projects as required by an expanding site.
  • Any other tasks as reasonably requested by your line manager.

  • You have good prioritising and organisation skills to manage the hangar requirements with support personnel and vendors.
  • You have communication skills to coordinate support with vendors and escalate issues effectively.
  • You have working knowledge of applicable Aviation standards such as AS9100 and any complementary standards.
  • You have working knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety rules, Human Factors, Human performance/limitations, and regulations as they apply to safety and environmental aspects of aircraft maintenance operations.
  • You have interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, all levels of the management team, and other departments.
  • You must be computer-literate and have the ability to use the company’s IT systems.
