A Local Government Authority in Nottingham is seeking a Building Maintenance Assistant to help maintain and improve building appearance. Responsibilities include general cleaning, health and safety checks, and minor maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate should have practical skills in gardening and DIY, as well as knowledge of health and safety regulations. This role offers a competitive salary and is an excellent opportunity to contribute positively to the community.
Contract Type: Fixed Term for 1 year
Working Hours: 14 hours per week (Ideally working on Monday and Friday, 7 hours per day)
Worker Type: Onsite Worker
Salary: Starting Salary is £24,790 FTE (Level one) rising to £25,584 FTE (Level three) per annum (pro rata for part-time) - pay award pending
Location: The Oaks, St Anns, Nottingham, NG3 1GZ

About the Role
To help maintain and improve the appearance and structure of the building. To work as part of the staff team to meet general cleaning schedules. To take responsibility for monitoring specific health and safety checks and completing records, and undertake planned maintenance programmes such as painting and decorating, waste disposals, furniture assembly, and undertake minor maintenance repairs. To identify and report to the duty manager any potential maintenance repairs and security issues relating to the fixtures and fabric of the building.

The ideal candidate will have:
- A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
Please note that this role does not meet the relevant salary threshold criteria for Skilled Visa sponsorship, and therefore applicants requiring sponsorship are unable to apply.
