Join a leading council's Refugee Resettlement service in Paisley, providing essential handyperson duties to support housing needs. This role involves repairs, maintenance, and effective communication with the public. Flexibility and a full driving license are required. Temporary position until June 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Refugee Resettlement service as part of Housing Support Services.
You will assist in providing a range of handyperson duties within both office buildings and individuals' own homes and gardens.
You may assist with various tasks such as painting and decorating, building and dismantling furniture, garden maintenance, minor home repairs, assistance with removal of large/bulky items, and driving pool cars and vans.
It is essential to have experience in carrying out general repairs & maintenance, including garden maintenance, and experience in decorating and building/dismantling furniture.
An awareness of relevant legislation and good practices related to Health & Safety to safeguard yourself and others at work is important.
You will be expected to manage your own workload with minimal supervision and use your own initiative when making decisions.
Effective organisational and communication skills are required, along with experience in dealing with the public, record keeping, and reporting repairs.
A flexible approach to occasionally working outside normal hours is necessary, and a full current driving licence is essential.
This post is temporary until 29/06/2026, subject to business needs and funding, or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever is earlier.
