Job summary

Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) is seeking a Handyperson to support HMP Erlestoke’s Facilities Maintenance Team on a permanent, 39-hour week basis. The role focuses on safe, reliable building fabric maintenance within a category C prison environment.

You will work Mon-Fri alongside skilled colleagues, using hand and power tools, upholding health and safety standards to ensure a secure environment for staff and prisoners._GFSL offers a strong benefits package and career development._

• Up to date First Aid at Work qualification.

Job Role: Handyperson

Location: HMP Erlestoke, 33 Victoria Park, Devizes. SN10 5TU

Salary: £27,505.80 per annum

Contract: Permanent - 39hrs per week - Mon-Fri

We are seeking a dedicated Escort / Fabric Operative to join our team at HMP Erlestoke, a category C, adult, male prison.

As an Escort / Fabric Operative, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Cleaners, and Administrators, and others, who are all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for an Escort / Fabric Operative with any combination of:

• Experience of prison environment

• Previous experience of working within a building fabric / Hard FM environment

• Level 2 qualification in English and Maths

Future Plans.

GFSL has been notified by it's shareholder (MOJ) that the provision of FM Services will in future be delivered by the private sector. This means that following a successful procurement process, GFSL's services will complete transfer to a private sector provider/providers no sooner than August 2027.
