Temporary Handyman - £15p/h Sheffield, S3

Immediate start, working hours from 8:00-16:00, 9:00-17:00, or 10:00-18:00, Monday to Friday.

My client, a busy student accommodation company, is seeking an experienced and efficient temporary handyman to assist with reactive repairs and maintenance at one of their student accommodation sites for one week to provide holiday cover.

Responsibilities include:

1. Performing reactive maintenance tasks such as basic plumbing, joinery, carpentry, painting, and decorating to high standards.
2. Moving furniture and heavy items within the building.
3. Maintaining lighting systems and conducting statutory testing.
4. Responding appropriately to health and safety issues.
5. Managing electronic maintenance reports and updating them as necessary.
6. Ensuring adequate stock and materials are available, and informing management when supplies need reordering.

The ideal candidate will have:

1. Proven experience in repairs and maintenance within a domestic residential environment or as a general builder/residential construction, with skills in plumbing, electrical work, or carpentry.
2. The ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
3. Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
4. A positive attitude, initiative, helpfulness, friendliness, and professionalism.
