Job summary

Sterling Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Handyman / Property Maintenance Operative to work across a portfolio of properties and development projects throughout the UK.

The role demands a broad range of practical maintenance and property skills, with independence and accountability for completing jobs to a high standard. A company van will be provided, or you may use your own vehicle for travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general property maintenance and handyman duties across residential and/or commercial properties
• Undertake basic carpentry and joinery work
• Carry out minor plumbing repairs and maintenance
• Complete basic electrical tasks where appropriately qualified/competent
• Painting, decorating and general finishing works
• Repair doors, locks, handles, fixtures and fittings
• Assemble and install furniture, shelving and other property fixtures
• Identify maintenance issues and carry out appropriate repairs
• Complete snagging works on development and refurbishment projects
• Prepare properties for occupation, handover or inspection
• Liaise with contractors and trades where specialist work is required
• Ensure properties and sites are left clean, safe and presentable
• Purchase or collect materials and equipment where required
• Maintain tools, equipment and the company vehicle
• Provide updates on jobs completed and highlight any additional works required

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Handyman / Property Maintenance Operative to work across a portfolio of properties and development projects throughout the UK.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone with a broad range of practical maintenance and property skills who is comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for completing jobs to a high standard.

The role will involve travel between different properties and development sites. A company van or suitable vehicle will be provided or you may use your own.
