Job Title: Mobile Building Fabric Engineer Wates FM

Location: Scotland Edinburgh/Glasgow

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mobile Building Fabric Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of fabric maintenance, repair, and painting tasks across multiple client sites. This role requires a versatile and hands-on professional with expertise in building maintenance, handyman services, and painting/decorating.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform general building fabric maintenance, including repairs to doors, floors, ceilings, walls, and fixtures.
  2. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
  3. Carry out minor plumbing, carpentry, and fabric works as required.
  4. Perform internal and external painting and decorating tasks, ensuring high-quality finishes.
  5. Assist with general handyman duties, including furniture assembly, painting, and basic repairs.
  6. Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
  7. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while working on-site.
  8. Keep accurate records of work completed, materials used, and report any issues requiring further attention.
  9. Liaise with clients and colleagues professionally to ensure excellent service delivery.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Fabric Engineer, Handyman, or similar role in building maintenance.
  2. Strong skills in carpentry, painting, plastering, tiling, and general building repairs.
  3. Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge is advantageous.
  4. Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload efficiently.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  6. Full UK driving licence (for mobile roles).
  7. Good communication and customer service skills.
  8. Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
  9. CSCS card (preferred but not essential).
