Job summary

FMG Repair Services in Leicester is offering an Apprentice Vehicle Damage Paint Technician apprenticeship. You will join a supportive bodyshop team, gain hands-on experience, and work toward a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification. No prior experience is required—just curiosity, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Duration is 36 months with 08:00–17:00 hours, Monday to Friday. Pay starts at £8.50 per hour in year 1 and rises to the national wage in year 2, with extensive training and

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
• Be willing to travel to the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle panels for painting through filling, sanding and masking.
• Mix and colour match paint for high-quality finish.
• Apply primers, basecoats and finishing coats with spray equipment.
• Finish painted vehicles by polishing and removing masking materials.
• Learn approved repair methods to meet manufacturer and BS10125 quality standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, safe working environment.
• Work with experienced technicians to develop practical skills.
• Communicate effectively with the team and contribute to a positive working environment.
