PentenAmio, a leading digital security solutions provider, seeks a technical leader to drive software innovation in the UK and allied markets. You will spend ~70% hands-on coding in real-time C and ~30% in line management, shaping a high-performing engineering team under the Head of Software.

You’ll design and maintain production-quality software, review architectures, mentor engineers, and set engineering standards using CI/CD, automated testing, and secure development practices.

Formación

• Hold a relevant degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Computer Engineering or equivalent professional experience, and;
• Be a British citizen, and;
• Hold or be eligible for UK National Security Vetting (NSV) at SC level (DV desirable)

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop and maintain production-quality software as an active member of engineering teams.
• Write, review and optimise high-quality code, primarily in real-time C
• Produce and review software architecture, design documentation and technical proposals
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews and engineering governance activities
• Support engineers through technical mentoring, pairing and collaborative problem solving
• Own the quality, maintainability and delivery of software solutions
• Apply modern software engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing and secure development
• Contribute to planning, estimation and technical decision making across multiple projects
• Drive consistency in engineering standards, tooling and development practices
• Line manage a team of approximately eight software engineers
• Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, objective setting and performance reviews
• Support career development through coaching, mentoring and development planning
• Identify training needs and help grow capability across the engineering function
• Support recruitment, onboarding and succession planning
• Work alongside the Head of Software to develop technical capability aligned to future business needs
• Encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration across engineering teams
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, standards and best practice
