Job summary

Pencil is seeking a Security & Trust Specialist to own day-to-day security operations for endpoints, identity and cloud/SaaS security. You will work with the Head of Security & Trust to grow into audit, compliance and vendor risk over time.

The role blends hands-on security with practical IT support, across Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and cloud IAM, with opportunities to influence monitoring and access control. Remote-friendly with UK office access at The Shard, London.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with endpoint management and identity access systems.
• Experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 administration.
• Familiarity with cloud IAM (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Experience with compliance or audit evidence gathering (Vanta) is a bonus.
• Security certification such as CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CISSP or Microsoft SC-900 or evidence of self-directed learning.

Responsibilities

• Administer and secure endpoints (MDM/Intune, patching, encryption, device compliance).
• Own day-to-day identity and access management across tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, GCP, etc).
• Monitor security alerts and logs, escalate promptly, and help investigate security events.
• Support compliance evidence collection in Vanta for SOC 2, ISO 27001 and ISO 42001, working with the Head of Security & Trust.
• Help gather evidence for vendor and customer security questionnaires and flag escalations.
• Identify and implement improvements to monitoring, alerting and access control across cloud and endpoint tooling.
