Michael Page seeks a Multiskilled Shift Engineer for a fast-paced food manufacturing site in Wrexham. You will lead a small shift team, carry out PPM on production and packaging lines, and promptly diagnose and repair breakdowns to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance within FMCG.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive maintenance approach.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in engineering/manufacturing.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead on shift team of engineers (3 direct reports per shift).
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on production and packaging equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform effective fault diagnosis and repair.
• Ensure all machinery operates in line with food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP).
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all documentation.
• Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations at all times.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Monitor and maintain utilities (e.g., steam, refrigeration, compressed air systems).
• Identify root causes of recurring faults and implement corrective actions.
