Job summary

Owen Daniels in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a growing manufacturing team. The role focuses on assembling and preparing containerised engine packages for dispatch, working safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.

You will fit, assemble and test units, assist with heavy component handling and adhere to risk assessments and engineering instructions. A hands-on, team-oriented approach and strong safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in a mechanical fitting or similar role.
• Experience with mechanical equipment and heavy components.
• Experience in lifting, shifting and slinging equipment.
• Practical skills in drilling, cutting and grinding.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical fitting, assembly, stripping and general fabrication duties.
• Assist with positioning, lifting and installation of heavy components.
• Measure and fit differential pressure hoses and complete equipment tagging.
• Carry out drilling, cutting, grinding and basic welding duties.
• Clean, paint and prepare completed units for dispatch.
• Work in line with engineering instructions, method statements and risk assessments.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety and housekeeping.
• Collaborate with production to meet deadlines and quality targets.
