Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd in Leicester is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Operative for a full-time, temporary position. You will perform general maintenance, repair fixtures and furniture, and assist with painting and basic plumbing to keep facilities safe and functional.

The role runs Monday to Friday with flexible start times (6:00am–2:00pm or 8:00am–4:00pm) and pays £12.71 per hour. A reliable, proactive attitude and practical use of tools are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior maintenance or handyman experience is beneficial.
• Practical and confident using basic tools.
• Reliable, hardworking and hands-on.
• Able to work independently and use initiative.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across the site
• Complete basic repairs to fixtures, fittings, doors and furniture
• Assist with painting, decorating and general upkeep
• Carry out basic plumbing and other minor repairs
• Use hand and power tools safely
• Identify and report maintenance issues
• Keep work areas clean, tidy and organised
• Support the wider site team with general duties when required
• Follow all health and safety procedures
