Job summary

Panda is hiring an Apprentice HGV Mechanic to join our Derbyshire workshop and start a career in heavy vehicle maintenance.

This hands-on apprenticeship blends practical workshop experience with formal training, teaching you to inspect, service and diagnose heavy goods vehicles while working towards a Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification.

You will learn from experienced technicians in a busy environment and gain a solid foundation for a long-term career with Panda.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or similar program.
• Willingness to learn and complete training along with on-the-job duties.
• Interest in HGVs and vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine safety checks, inspections, servicing on HGVs and trailers.
• Support roadworthiness checks in line with DVSA and operator licences.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.
• Assist qualified technicians with repairs to engines, transmissions, steering, air brakes and suspension.
• Complete service records, job cards and basic maintenance paperwork.
• Keep the workshop, inspection areas, tools and equipment clean, safe and organized.
• Follow all site health and safety rules, safe working practices and company procedures.
