Job Description:

Hands-on Head of Engineering/Tech Lead - to £130k - Ruby on Rails

The title is flexible. Given the hands-on element, it's an experienced Tech Lead role, but since you're the first developer hire responsible for transitioning the company from working with a consultancy, they are open to calling it Head of Engineering if preferred.

You will join an established company preparing to build an in-house team, with existing Product staff. Your responsibilities include creating the tech culture, building a small Ruby Engineers team, ensuring a smooth transition from the consultancy, and making strategic data-driven decisions.

They seek someone proficient in Ruby on Rails, with deep architecture experience, and familiarity with data-driven organizations.

Location: London - Hybrid in Shoreditch, 1 day a week on-site or more if desired.

Salary: Up to £130k

Tech stack: Ruby on Rails (essential), React (ideal), Postgres, Stimulus, Tailwind, AWS, Heroku, and other smaller tools.
