Job summary

Six Ventures Limited is seeking an Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of industrial control software engineers. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on software development for bespoke machinery and automation projects.

You will manage workloads, resources and project delivery while remaining technically hands-on. Experience across Mitsubishi, Siemens and Omron PLCs is highly valued, with a focus on standardising practices and improving efficiency.

Qualifications

Experience developing industrial control software.
Extensive PLC programming experience (Mitsubishi/Siemens/Omron).
Experience on bespoke machinery or automation systems.
Ability to lead and develop a technical engineering team.
Strong project management and organisation skills.
Structured software development, standards and documentation.
Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead, manage and develop a team of industrial control software engineers.
Review workload, progress and team performance with management.
Allocate resources across projects and assist recruitment.
Provide technical guidance on complex software and controls challenges.
Develop and maintain software engineering standards and practices.
Drive standardisation to improve portability and reduce development times.
Ensure software standards are adopted across the team.
Collaborate with Sales, Operations and other disciplines on project requirements.
Take responsibility for selected projects as Project Manager from planning to delivery.
Remain hands-on and program software for new automation projects.
