Job summary

The British Museum is seeking an Assistant Collection Manager: Storage and Moves (Rehouse) to support a major storage move, focusing on large three-dimensional stone objects. Qualifications

• Experience in hands-on museum handling and storage work is essential.
• Ability to measure, document and condition-check objects accurately.
• Comfort with physically demanding tasks and heavy lifting in a storage environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive deliveries, check condition, record measurements and move objects to storage.
• Assist in packing, documentation and photography as required.
• Support large-object moves and rehouse objects onto pallet racking while maintaining care standards.
